Our Origin Story
Lisa and Jim Kammert’s journey into the bakery business is more than just a career change… it’s a true story of purpose, family, and caring.
While raising their son Eric, who has Autism, they saw a perfect opportunity to create something really special.
In 2014, they opened their cupcake shop in Old Town Murrieta, imagining a place where their son could work independently, and other special needs adults could find meaningful employment.

In 2017, Batter Up Bakery relocated to Temecula, where our vision truly began to flourish.
Through partnerships with the Schools District Bridges Program, Easter Seals, and local families, we’ve created opportunities for special needs individuals to gain valuable work experience.
To date, we’ve employed six adults, and regularly welcome school students who volunteer to gain work experience, and socialize.
Our Impact
The growth of their business has fostered more than just commercial success—it’s cultivated generosity, patience, and meaningful connections with customers from all walks of life. Whether it’s serving a comforting cup of coffee to someone having a difficult day or being part of life’s biggest celebrations, BUB has become woven into the fabric of the community.
